Stream Link - Link to Show Overview

I am looking to streamline my kid’s navigation to kid shows on the AppleTV. As you would expect, there are shows in all of the major apps that she likes to watch. It would be great if it was possible to create stream links to the general show pages instead of just the individual episodes.

One way you could do this right now..

Create .strmlnk files under movies with the links to the shows.
Then mark those "movies" as library visibility hidden, and add them all to a movie collection.
You should be able to view the collection on the apple tv and hitting play button on the remote to follow the link.

Maybe not as kid friendly as you're looking for. But if the proof of concept works then we might consider making shows themselves linkable. It would require some investigation to see feasibility.

What app are you linking to? Is it easy to find the links to the shows? And they actually work to open the app to the right place?

This seems to work (at least with Netflix) shows. I like it and it would be wonderful if this would make its way from a workaround to a feature!!

I just tested out Doc McStuffins on Disney+ (link: Watch Doc McStuffins | Disney+). Following your directions, I was able to correctly have it show up and be a valid link within the Movies section (or better yet, in the Kids section). The only downside was that with this format I was not able to pull the correct metadata since it was searching for a Doc McStuffins movie instead of the TV show. I think this could be really useful instead of me having to manually create Stream Links for all of the episodes for these shows (i.e. all ~150 episodes of Bluey).

Doesn't seem to work with Peacock and Apple TV. Works fine with Peacock and iPhone.
