Streaming on Channels quicker than BBC iPlayer/ITVX?

Hi folks,

I have a stupidly specific question.

When streaming live TV on Channels will my feed be ahead of streaming channels on BBC iPlayer or ITVX?

I have grown fed up of those streams lagging behind during their World Cup coverage and waiting up to a minute to see the action people are talking about play out. So I bought myself an antenna and either plan on running straight onto a TV though the location is not ideal, or running it through Channels where I can watch it in a more ideal location. I realise the not ideal location is the simpler option, but hey.

Thanks!

That depends on your source, but assuming you are using a HDHomerun with Freeview - yes.

Sorry, yea HDHomerun with Freeview. And thanks!

Its the big 'gotcha' here in UK for live sport - UHD on iplayer or more real-time on FTA.

Likely be a latency of no more than 4-5 seconds from the transmission to your house on conventional Freeview or Satellite delivery.

Often over a minute on different streaming platforms as they're not designed for low latency but high capacity and this is what the systems are generally optimised for.
