Struggling to find a place for TVE and Channels

I am struggling to find where TVE and Channels fits in our entertainment.

We currently have Comcast service to the house for my in laws apartment on the lower level. So, to avoid all the box rentals we use TVE(using Comcast) and some Antenna on the upper floors via a HDHR Quattro and Servio.

We have Gig internet but still experience pixeling at times using Channels. Almost all of the AppleTvs are hard wired.

I find we don’t watch a lot of live TV, other than news and sports. When they’re back on. Most of our network shows we can watch on Hulu with no ads. The rest is on demand in services like Starz, HBO and CBS that I turn off and on as needed.

Services:
Disney+,Hulu, ESPN+ bundle
Netflix (Thanks TMobile)
Prime
AppleTV+

Other than additional DVR space is it worth having all the HDHR equipment? I’m thinking about Hulu Live. I could use the Channels app and Hulu to record and have a single guide, but I don’t know that we need more than the 50 hours Hulu provides.

Any advice is welcome.

Not sure what you are asking. Having the Hdhr equipment will let you record locally PBS, CBS and sub channels that you won’t get with Tv or all local channels if you pause Hulu live. With the TVE channels recordings won’t expire like on the Hulu live dvr and you can skip commercials.

That’s actually a perfect answer. I had not thought about expiring recordings in Hulu.

Place? For me, it replaced cable tv and a $~180 a month bill.

My grandparents still can only use the Comcast cable, so i just use my account under theirs for most of my TVE stations, and Philo for the rest, which is just $20 a month.

I get all but a small few channels via Channels TVE that I did with Comcast cable box service. Missing Weather Channel, and Nat Geo Wild completely(not subscribed)....and the 3 other Nickelodeon stations, and Discovery Family via Channels are in the Philo app.
Selling my 2 HDHR Primes more than paid for the HDHR Quatro OTA tuner and antenna.

Very much found a place here for me. And hope they continue to refine and mature their software.
