Subtitles not working on Remote DVR.

They only work if you do software transcoding not hardware.... at least that is how I got them to work.

There are several factors that could affect this.

How about some details:

  • Server hardware? GPU? OS? Drivers?
  • DVR version?
  • Hardware vs. software transcoding?
  • Source? (OTA? ATSC? DVB? Internet?)
  • Client? App version? OS?

mine is GPU Intel QuickSync ... Windows server .... Software remote transcoding gives me captions.

I have same problem. Software Transcoding. OS server, Apple TV.

Funny thing though, I have Hardware transcoding and subtitles are available to me remotely.

Windows and Linux use different transcoders, VAAPI vs Quicksync.

Looks like you're in Australia? That region uses a different type of captioning system based on teletext. It may not be wired up to the transcoder correctly. We can take a look.

Thanks for that. BTW I'm using software transcoding.

Forgot to mention. Works when watching a recording, but not live FTA.
