It would be awesome to have a setting on both the Apple TV and iOS app to enable a dark mode for the background of the guide. The blue always seems to be washed out on my tv.

Hmm, the background is purple, and it’s already pretty dark. I don’t mean to be patronizing, but have you checked the brightness (not backlight) and color on your TV? It sounds like it’s tuned way up. It definitely shouldn’t look washed out or even blue. Is the TV old?
If you have a 4K tv, you may need to enable SDR mode on the Settings tab of the app.
