Super Bowl reverse commercial skip

I know this would never happen… but how awesome would it be if Channels could record the Super Bowl and upon playback skip the game so we could watch only the commercials and half time show! For those of us who don’t watch football, of course. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

  1. Enable EDL export in the DVR web UI
  2. Edit the exported EDL, changing the timestamps to indicate that the program portions should be skipped.
  3. Put a copy of the recording and the modified EDL in your Imports directory.

You now have 2 copies of the Super Bowl: the first is the recording with commercials tagged, and the second is the recording with the game tagged. (You may want to verify/edit the commercial markers first, to ensure the commercials are properly marked.)

Or you can simply watch them on YouTube on Monday.

Thanks @racameron. I’ve never toyed with the EDL files. Maybe I’ll check it out.
