Superbowl question! Able to sync stream on multiple TV's in the house?

We're having some friends over for the super bowl in a little bit. We have several TV's in the house (basement, living room, kitchen). Each TV has it's own apple tv device.

In the past I've started the stream on each device (which is fine), but some of streams usually have between 3-10 delay. This causes cheering (or swearing) coming across in waves in the house since some folks saw what happened first.

Is there a way to have channels/appletv sync the streams on multiple devices?

There is not. The best you can do is to pause each Apple TV and then scrub to the same point on each and unpause them both at the same time. Then hide the remotes. That gets it close enough for our household.

Ahh bummer, would be a cool feature request!

I think also having a way to launch and control multiple instances of channels would be cool. The phone app is nice, will let me use my guide and pick which TV to play the stream to, but I think the TV has to be on with the app loaded. Would be awesome to pick multiple tv's to stream to from your phone and then have each stream sync up

You might try to make sure "tuner sharing" is on. Also tell it to record superbowl.
Then go to each apple tv and select the superbowl feed and select live feed on each when asked about watching live or recorded.
As long as the network is uncongested to each tv that will probably be as close as you can get...Could hit fast forward on any of them as needed to get to the "live" position if one gets behind slightly.
Good Luck! :+1:

And yea...definitely hide the remotes...
Or give to someone TRUSTWORTHY! :man_shrugging:

EDIT #1
Other than that...another possiblility would be to use vlc to multicast to devices...Don't actually know if that would be anymore synced or not...
Here is how AI says to do that...

To sync a VLC feed across multiple TVs, you need to utilize the "multicast streaming" feature within VLC, which essentially sends a single video stream to all connected devices on your network simultaneously, allowing them to play the same content in sync; to achieve this, open the video in VLC, go to "Media" > "Stream", configure the output as a multicast stream, and then access that stream on each TV using VLC on their respective devices.

Edit #2
If you have a hdmi encoder like the linkpi, it may have a multicast output stream available...
Bring the CDVR stream in as a "net stream" then output it as multicast feed. View on devices with VLC

Edit #3
With VLC they have an extension apparently called syncplay....
