Switched DVR machines, how to get old recordings back?

I recently switched DVR machines to a more powerful machine but am still using the old external HD from the original DVR computer. I believe I configured the new machine correctly and can record NEW recordings but the old recordings and passes are gone. I pointed the DVR recording path on the new machine to be the same path as the old one (using the same external HD), but it will not inherit the old recordings and/or passes. Any ideas?

Does this previous thread help? Appears there is a restore step you need to do. See Aman's reply in thread.

You need to open http://127.0.0.1:8089/restore to import all the old recordings and passes
