Synology DS216j not enough RAM?

From what I can see the DVR needs 1GB of RAM? I have a Synology DS216j which I believe has half that. Anyone running the DVR package on this specific NAS? Will it even run it? Thanks

The DVR can be installed on the DS216j and should work as long as you disable commercial detection and don’t try to use the web player (which needs to transcode).

We have been making performance improvements over the past few weeks, so the DVR works much better now on NAS with 256MB or 512MB of RAM.

Thank you for the quick reply. Sounds like I’ll be good to go.

Im running on a 115j and so far so good - it can get a little overwhelmed sometimes but hardly notice any thing

I got my NAS just to store ripped DVD’s and Blu-rays on that had redundancy. I spent a lot of time ripping, encoding, and adding metadata. But the more I got into it the more I saw I could do a lot more with it. That being said I run Plex server on it from time to time and that works fine. Having to do it all over again I’d probably go with something that had a little more horsepower.
