I had been running Channels DVR on DSM6 for quite a while on this DS416J. Having now updated to DSM7 (after erasing and reformatting the drive due to some other issues) - I now do not get commercial detection.
The logs show an error message
Could not allocate memory for logo frame buffer 39
Does this mean that the additional overhead of running DSM7 on an old machine means that I can no longer run commercial detection on this?
Are you seeing anything unusual in Resource Monitor-->Performance-->Memory?
Or Channels DVR memory use in Resource Monitor-->Task Manager-->Services?
BTW these screen caps are from a DS920+ running DSM7.
I see CPU jumping to 60-80% useage for a very brief moment. Memory useage is constant at around 60%.
The resource manager that I see doesn’t have the task manager split out separately, but I have enabled tracking so that I can see what happens after a recording concludes.
I finally ended up creating a custom comskip.ini file which excluded the logo scanning. I am now getting adverts marked in recordings. This seems to work for my particular recording needs on mainstream UK broadcast channels.
