Synology DS718+

I moved my server to the 718+ and I’m getting constant buffering on my iPad Pro and I have been unable to connect from my pixel 3. I authenticated the dvr away from home but it keeps giving me tuner not connected error. I can connect from the browser though it buffers a lot. I am also able to access Plex without any issues.

Moved from where?

Is the iPad set to Home Quality Original?

Did you uninstall the dvr from the previous computer?

Moved it from my nuc. Yes I ran the unistaller.

Yes the iPad was set to high quality. I’ll change it now. Also should I set the transcoder to hardware or software

Transcoder and Deinterlacer should be set to Hardware.

I set both to hardware and still experiencing buffer so I moved dvr back to my nuc and the buffering went away but I’m still not able to watch away from home and keep getting tuner not available even after authorizing the dvr. I was pretty sure I uninstalled the dvr from my nuc the before I moved it to the nas the first time but maybe I didn’t. Is there something I could do if that’s the case?

For remote access set the DVR web UI to Manual mode and then login to your router and add port forward for TCP 8089 going to the IP of the DVR.

Use portchecker.co to verify 8089 is open and that my.channelsdvr.net loads over LTE.

Okay manually port forwarded and I'm able to load my dvr through web browser on my phone over LTE but when I try to use the Channels App it shows the guide, dvr, settings and all my channels available. However when I click on a channel it seems like it tries to connect then gives tuner not available error. After I close the app and try to click on it again it force closes

Can you submit diagnostics after the error

Okay will do when I get home from work

How do I submit a log from the error on my phone or do I just click on the log from my pc?

At the bottom of the Settings tab there is a Submit Diagnostics button.

Okay just sent it

I got some diagnostics from your Google Pixel 3 and its showing there's no wifi connection or IP address. When it tries to connect to the DVR and HDHR both fail.

Very strange. Maybe you need to reboot it?

Rebooted both the HDHomeRun and my nuc still getting the same no tuner error while on LTE.

Did you click Connect To DVR and select Away From Home in the app?

Yes it says dvr authorized and I can see the guid, passes and my recording but when I go to watch from the guide it tries to load then shows no tuners found.

Okay, maybe it's an issue in Android 10. The diagnostics show the app thinks it's still at home and is not using remote connection.

When you turn off Wi-Fi can you try restarting the Channels app on your phone then submit diagnostics after you start it back up

Okay I rebooted my modem, disconnected it and my Velop reconnected my both. Now I am able to connect over LTE but it still buffers quite a bit. Works perfectly over wifi. I submitted the diagnostic

Okay I figured out the buffering issues were a result of using btrfs instead of ext4 so I reformatted my harddrives and it seemed like everything was going well with no buffering but the now dvr is unable to request a HTTPS certificate.
