Synology installation: curl SSL certificate problem

I'm trying perform manual install in Synology Package Center of ChannelsDVR_1.0.4.spk package on Synology DS409+ running DSM 4.2-3259 (not using putty) following instructions on https://getchannels.com/dvr-server/#synology

I first downloaded the ChannelsDVR_1.0.4.spk file. Then did manual install and selected the downloaded spk file.

I get error from Channel DVR

Failed to install the package

curl performs SSL certificate verification by default, using a "bundle"
of Certificate Authority (CA) public keys (CA certs). If the default
bundle file isn't adequate, you can specify an alternate file
using the --cacert option.
If this HTTPS server uses a certificate signed by a CA represented in
the bundle, the certificate verification probably failed due to a
problem with the certificate (it might be expired, or the name might
not match the domain name in the URL).
If you'd like to turn off curl's verification of the certificate, use
the -k (or --insecure) option.

Stuck.

What does curl --version say?

Synology_DS409> curl --version
curl 7.26.0-DEV (powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu) libcurl/7.26.0-DEV OpenSSL/1.0.1m zlib/1.2.5 libssh2/1.4.2
Protocols: dict file ftp ftps gopher http https imap imaps pop3 pop3s rtsp scp sftp smtp smtps telnet tftp
Features: IPv6 Largefile NTLM NTLM_WB SSL libz TLS-SRP

Thanks.

Unfortunately Channels DVR does not support PowerPC CPUs like the one in your NAS

Bummer. Time to look for an inexpensive way to run Channels DVR.

I don't want to leave a windows pc awake running channels.

Any recommendations for low power solution?

Before I commit to Channels by buying a new DS218+, I would like to check out the Web UI interface since I plan to do quite a bit of my consuming on a windows laptop.

Is there a way to do this without installing Channels DVR at home?

Do you have a ChannelsDVR demo server that I can remotely access and watch live tv or playback a recording in order to check out the Web UI interface?

Also, if I connect two drives to the DS218+ as separate drives (not mirrored or RAID), will Channels DVR record to both drives independently?

If I have a Channels DVR annual subscription, do I have to buy the android and ATV and FireTV apps on top of that, or are they included?

Thanks!

It's $8/mo. on a month-to-month subscription. You can cancel at any time.

I'm not sure what that means, but I think the answer is probably "no."

If you install the "DVR" versions of those apps, they're free. Note, however, the DVR must be up and accessible, or you can't even watch Live with them.

Nope, sorry. We couldn't legally share video streams anyway.

The first month of the DVR is free, so you can install it on any compatible device and try it out. It's very quick to setup.

No it will only record to the directory you point it too.
