Synology NAS - Which Synology NAS would you recommend?

I'm looking to upgrade my Synology DS216j to something like the DS218+, 220+ or 412.

Anyone using these without any issues? Ideally the NAS would be used to feed multiple TVs in home and 2-3 remote. Are both of these models capable of handling that? Any feedback is appreciated.

I’m using the DS220j (no transcoding required... and cost).

I’ve had it recording 5x UK HD Freeview channels, watching an HD recording and processing an episode for adverts all at once with no perceivable impacts on the NAS; however only feeding 1 AppleTV. All hardwired and 1Gbit ports with appropriate capacity cable.

I must push it further!!

Does Channels take advantage of the hardware transcoding on the DS220+?? Dunno.

The DS220+ is only for the additional grunt from the CPU as you may want the NAS to convert video formats over remote connections.

Since you are wanting to feed remote users I would personally get the + model.

I am using the DS720+ excellent performance zero trouble but upgraded memory to 6 gb
