Testers Needed for new project

Yes

The first two tunes I tried failed, one with some weird frowny face from YTTV, and the second with a black screen. I'm running in a Windows 11 VM under Proxmox with an Intel ARC GPU passed through (which is working). The second two tunes succeeded:

CDVR logs show the same two lines, whether tunes worked or not:

2026/10/21 10:03:07.920487 [SNR] Buffer statistics for 192.168.110.78 (Tab Active Pro) for ch200010 TBS: buf=0% drop=0%
2026/10/21 10:03:07.920583 [TNR] Closed connection to M3U-CharonYouTubeTV for ch200010 TBS

I'd say this is an impressive start, and is certainly slimmed down vs PrismCast. Tuning is faster using deep links compared with the guide-based approach of PC.

I don't really know what the impact is of using the tuning IDs you've included. My set of tuning IDs, grabbed right from the YTTV guide is mostly different from yours. Maybe this is nothing, but it's probably something worth investigating. I'll likely do an OliveTin Action that will convert one's actual tuning IDs into a JSON that can be imported into Charon.

Here's the GPU performance with a single stream:

@bnhf Right now, I used my tuning ID's in it for testing. I have been deleting and reinstalling to work out bugs and having my channels preloaded makes it a lot faster to test. The final version will use a scraper to grab the users channels and build the channels.json after initial log in to the provider.

I had AI create a JSON, in the Charon format, using a source JSON that had my tuning IDs in it, and I haven't had any further tuning problems. Since I'm MT, and get the Pacific feeds, it's possible first couple of stations I tried were Eastern (not to mention having the wrong tuning IDs).

These tuning IDs are a mystery. Maybe they're tied to ad markets, or server proximity, or who knows? And, when in doubt, it seems best to use the IDs that are correct for a given user. I'm glad to hear of your plans to scrape the correct set of subscribed channels and their IDs.

I've been streaming for a couple of hours now using Charon, and everything seems to be working well.

Happy to test some things out if my machine's specs fit with what you are looking for (I do have YTTV credentials):

I'm good for now, Thanks. It tested good on AMD. Thank you all for your help. I am aiming for a release next month with YTTV and Spectrum as providers and maybe Philo.

I'm currently streaming 4 channels with Charon, using CDVR Multiview on an iPad.

Here's what the GPU load looks like:

And the resource utilization for the Windows VM on Proxmox:

And the Intel ARC metrics with 4 tuners active:

I'm on Spectrum SoCal and I get SCI channel.

Nice. Thank you for the data. Is it keeping up or dropping frames?

I'm going to work on Spectrum as a provider very soon. I will probably need some testers when I get it done. Thanks.

I don't think I can get stats on Multiview. Is there another way to get that data? It looks fine, but it's an iPad Mini.

Would channels logs show anything?

Nothing relevant. There's this?:

Switching to looking a single stream, with stats on -- yes, we're dropping frames. Already at 100 in just a few minutes.

Thank you.

I would love to help, I have a windows 11 machine (AMD CPU/GPU) and YTTV.

Thank you. I have enough information at the moment to move forward with the project .
