Testers Needed for new project

I need a couple of people that are willing to help me test a project I've been working on. It is a Windows streaming server that at the moment is only using YTTV, but will have other providers added later. The requirements are:

  1. Have an active YouTube TV account
  2. Have a newer Windows 11 PC to install the app on
  3. Be willing to test an app that can and will have bugs.
  4. Have the M3U added to their Channels DVR sources and provide tuning logs.
  5. Have or be willing to install Google Chrome browser.

I have only tested on Intel CPU's so an Nvidia or AMD GPU would be helpful. I should add this should work on anything from an n100 on up.

I can satisfy those requirements. YouTubeTV is not my current workhorse streaming service, but I have a subscription to it for at least the next month.

Awesome. I'll have a release to test ready in the next couple of days. I'll PM you with it. Thanks.

Very interesting. I think I might know where you're going with this.

Could this be similar to TVE but instead of connecting to individual channel websites, the server connects (legally) to the user's TV provider account and generates an HLS stream?

If so, that would be brilliant!

Whatever that is, I would be willing to test but I don't have YTTV.

If you happen to expand support to DirecTV Stream, I'm your guy.

This is basically Prismcast without all the bells and whistles. It only runs on Windows and should be able to run on lower powered machines like an N100 mini pc as well as bigger systems. The main purpose is to provide anywhere from 1 to 4 tuners (depending on what your system can handle). The server is providing a Mpeg-ts stream from a Chrome browser capture. It still has a ways to go, but having some testers with different systems would be helpful before I start adding more providers.

If someone has Spectrum, can you verify if you can directly tune a station on their website with a url like this https://watch.spectrum.net/livetv?tmsid=10179

I have Spectrum and the URL took me right to the Spectrum News 1.

I will definately help testing for Spectrum TV. I don't have YoutubeTV.

Are you in the Eastern Timezone? That was the id for ESPN.

Thank you, I will need that if I can find a way to direct link to Spectrum channels on their website.

I'm in central time zone. The URL for ESPN in my area would be, https://watch.spectrum.net/livetv?tmsid=32645

Does that link open directly to the channel or does it require any other clicks to watch it?

Went straight to the Channel.

I got TCM (I'm in Eastern, the account is in Western):

I think the way you are writing the link it is playing whatever station the user last loaded. That certainly isn't the tsmid in the actual link when playing TCM live.

If it helps, here's how FastChannels is scraping the stations and getting the URLs.

Also, should you want a Spectrum tester with these types of specs, let me know!

I've actually completely turned off PrismCast because performance was not working out for me with this machine.

Thank you...

I will work on adding Spectrum after I finish a few more tests. Probably next week. Thank you.

I'll be watching for Updates. I'm willing to Resubscribe to you YTTV temporarily if you need testers.

I should be good. The tests I will need can be done with Spectrum too. Thanks..

I can help. I have an Nvidia machine.

@TheDaveAbides Do you have YouTube TV?
