Further info, while the Windows box that runs Channels is on a UPS, the HDHR Flex 4K is elsewhere in the house and not on a UPS so that lost power.
It seems to me that Channels has some sort of issue when the HDHR might lose power briefly.
Rebooting the server corrected the problem.
