Time on thumbnail

I record multiple programs where there are multiple hours a day. It would be quite useful if the time of the recording were added to the thumbnails so that I can tell which recorded hour is which without having to drill down on each one

Please provide more detail as what you’re describing sounds like an edge case in recording items and your description is not very clear.

Screenshots would be helpful.

Can’t tell which hour is which. This one is 4 hours but I already deleted 2 hours. Adding the start time to the thumbnail would be very helpful.

Unfortunately this is an edge case of the type of programming you're recording.

Placing the time that an episode aired at would be busy in that presentation, while only benefiting less than 1% of scenarios. So it's not something we're willing to do.

Fortunately, you can get this information with the modal which provides more metadata of an episode.

Strange that you prefer wrong information to more information. I don’t think it would be cluttered at all.

99%

Showing the time that an episode was recorded is meaningless for 99.9% of recorded episodes So showing that all the time would be cluttered.

I understand that for your scenario, it would be helpful, but it's a very rare scenario. And one which you can resolve by using the episode modal, which was designed to show more information.

Your screenshot is not showing wrong information, it's just not showing the information you want, for your niche scenario.

showing the date of the recording twice is wasting far more space the a simple time of day stamp. news is one of the biggest reason's i mess with dvr, not just stream.

I record all local news and I cannot tell between noon and 5pm

is this comming to non-apple apps?

New programs don't have episode titles, so they fall back to the date for their titles. This is what you're seeing. Those items are designed to show the episode title up top, and the data at the bottom.

News programs don't have episode titles, so we fall back to showing their date, as that's the most relevant thing for news. So this is what you're seeing.
