Tivo 4k IR (One Touch Bug)

So I got a 4k stream for my Grandparents a while back. They were paying a ridiculous amount of money for cable in their small town. Anyway, they've been using the channels app with the stream 4k and have gotten used to it, credit to the seemless cable-like feel to the devs! After the most recent 5256 update though they've been having issues with the remote.

The Home, Guide, & Tivo buttons will send the TV into a boot cycle. The Vizio logo will pop up, and it will cycle through inputs, hang with a no-signal, then finally pops back to whatever action the button was intending to do. I've narrowed this down to the remote sending IR signals. (verifiable by the fact that I would put the remote behind the TV and it would switch without issues.)

Things I've tried, I have disabled CEC (although the TV doesn't support it, and it's not a CEC issue), I've gone into the remote settings, and disabled the One-Touch for IR & CEC. and I've disabled HDR (TV doesn't support it anyway).

I did go through the De-Tivoing of the device prior to the update. One theory I still have left to attempt is to factory reset the device. Run through the remote setup and see if that fixes things, then re-run through the de-tivoing. Other things I've thought of would be to see if anyone here knows how to disable Tivo's remote package then see if I can manually set things up using button mapper? Although, I still need IR to control volume & power to the TV.

Overall, I'm at a bit of a loss on how to fix it. The other two things I'm thinking are shots in the dark. I understand this isn't a Tivo 4k support forum. I've researched this through the Tivo community and their subreddit. I've seen two other accounts of this issue their, but no solution. Seems like Tivo devs in the areas have gone silent. I have seen some pretty great people here and am simply hoping someone is nice enough to help me with some suggestions.
