Tivo Stream 4K upgrade to Andoid 12

I happened to see this: Holy moly there's an update! | TiVo Community Forum
And sure enough, I have that update available on my Stream 4Ks as well. Anyone else here take the update yet? Does it still work well with ChannDVR? If I take the update will I have to go through the de-Tivo steps again? And reinstall the custom ChanDVR client (with the mapped buttons)? And does that custom client work after the Android 12 update?

I know lots of questions, but if I break what's been working flawlessly for years now my spouse will have my head! She (and I) are now die-hard fans of ChanDVR via the Stream 4K (we have several of them on the multiple TVs in our house).

If someone else has taken the plunge and upgraded their Stream 4K, please share your experience.

Thx!

There is a problem:

This killed my launcher and Button Mapper, so not directly Channels, but certainly problems around it. I have to redo everything :rage:

Doing the ADB command in the link at least makes it possible, in my experience. Everything else I did to de-TiVO it before remained in place.

Wasn't the Android 12 update actually available a couple years ago? I believe I just set up a freshly wiped TS4K around Christmas, and got 12 at that point in time.

Also, every removal via ADB worked without issue, as well as adding other launchers.

This automatically upgraded on a couple TS4K so far and am running into a problem where I am getting a warning pop up that says "There is currently a serious shortage of internal storage space!". I have to clear the data for Channels but it then comes back after 25 to 30 minutes. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or know of anyway to resolve? I am using an HDHomerun with cable card and also TVE as sources. Was not experiencing this problem before the upgrade.

Ran into this myself over the weekend, the local live TV buffer is filling up all available space and the TS4Ks are throwing that error. I switched Settings > Playback > Streaming Quality > Original Quality Delivery from Direct to Stream and the message has stopped popping up. This should move the live TV buffer to the server if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for the suggestion to change that setting. I changed it and so far so good.

I am getting the same memory error and changing the streaming quality from direct to stream alleviated the problem when watching live tv, but the error is now popping up when watching recordings. I also have an HD Homerun with an OTA antenna and am having the memory issue pop up when watching OTA recordings. I need to keep emptying the Channels cache to get rid of the issue, temporarily. I didn't have this issue before the TS4K update.
