I am running channels DVR on a macbook pro and it has been working fine. However, now when I go to guide and select a station to watch a message comes up which says, "transcoder starting" and the play wheel just spins and the channels does not play. I have tried restarting my computer, recycling the HDhomerun box and resinstalling the channels software. None of these things have solved the problem. The Channels app on my IOS devices work fine. Any ideas on a fix?
Which browser are you using? Can you try with Chrome?
I am using Safari and I did try using chrone and that did not solve the problem. However, A message just popped up that said, "The media playback was aborted due to a corruption problem or because the media used features your browser did not support."
Is the DVR server actually installed on the macbook? Or on your windows PC?
What does the Log tab of the DVR show after you try playing something in the browser.
The DVR service is installed on the mac. Here are the log entries after trying to select a channel:

There should be some messages like "Starting transcoder" in there. Looks like its busy downloading guide data so its probably getting lost in the all the noise.
You can try to change the Transcoder setting on the DVR page to Software instead of Hardware to see if that helps.
Changing transcoder to software did not help. However, the log entries did indicate transcoder start:
2018/10/30 19:38:50 [HLS] Starting transcoder for channel 2.1 from 127.0.0.1 (encoder=libx264, resolution=, deinterlacer=blend, bitrate=10000)

Okay this is the issue. I think it's a permissions problem. Did you move over the DVR from another computer?
No. This is the same computer I installed the DVR server on. I did install an Mojave update on this computer recently which could have impacted permissions.
Checked the security tab in setting and do not see any conflicts there.
Ah ok, your account is showing that the DVR was/is installed on a "ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC" and a macbook as well so that's why I was confused.
Can you open Terminal on your macbook pro and run this command, then copy/paste the results back:
ls -alh /Volumes
I ran the code in terminal.
Still have the same problem after running the code.
That was a diagnostic command, I need to see the results that were printed in the terminal.
Here are the results:
Kenneths-MacBook-Pro:~ kennethjump$ ls -alh /Volumes

Your DVR is configured to write to the following directory:
/Volumes/ My Passport for Mac
It appears this disk is not connected to your mac at all, since the listing you pasted above does not show it.
It is also a little strange that there's a space at the beginning of the drive name, but that may be normal.
That took care of the problem. I disconnected the drive to attach my kindle to transfer some files and forgot to plug it back in. I apprecate your help! Thank you!
