Trial...Repurchase?

I have used the Channels app on tvOS for a very long time. I switched to a Shield TV today and have two questions:

1.) Do I have to repurchase it for Android?
2.) Is there any option of a trial? It’s so expensive to try without ever having used the Android version.

Yes, it needs to be purchased for each platform/app store. As far as a trial, if you have an installation of the Channels DVR server, there is a separate "Channels DVR" app which is free, but it will only work when paired with a DVR server.
