Trouble with Channels for Mac OS

I am noticing some issues as of recently, with the Channels background application for Mac OS. I was traveling for the weekend and saw that I do not have access to my stuff on the iOS app.

I have noticed that I have had to restart the application on my Mac when I was at home at least once.

This has not always happened, and seems to have started recently. Anything I can do?!

What does the Log tab of the DVR web UI say?

I will paste that here as soon as I get home (on a plane ride right now).

This used to work flawlessly, but I’ve been noticing that I have had to restart the application here and there lately. Not sure what changed.

Just out of curiosity…do I only need to have my Mac powered on, or do I have to also be logged into my user account?

Okay, I think I found the problem. When I arrived home, I saw that everything was working locally, inside my LAN. I verified that all necessary port(s) had been open, nothing had been changed network-wise.

Only thing that changed was the fact that I had updated the HDHOMERUN’s firmware via the admin page of the device itself (and not via Channels).

Anyway…on my mobile device, I signed out then in the remote DVR, disabled wifi to put myself in Cellular mode and was able to pick up everything off of AT&T’s network once again.

Not exactly sure what/why things had happened, but I’m good now!

Sometimes the in-plane Wi-Fi has a lot of firewall restrictions as well, so that might be why it wasn’t working.
