Troubleshooting Guide and/or Season Pass issues

Hi all, I'm pretty new to Channels DVR and really just love the server. It's so zippy and reliable and we're coming from Plex which is .. not zippy ;).

One thing I haven't been able to figure out or find an answer to here - how do I have a season pass set up that always records every episode? I can't tell if it's my provider's fault, the guide's fault, or something else - how does one even start investigating this?

Here's an example... I want to record all episodes of Wheel of Fortune. Sometimes the guide doesn't show the original air date or episode number, actually it seems like most of the time it just has a bunch of WoF episodes airing back to back without original airdates. The DVR records one and marks the rest as "previously recorded." I need to go in every night and select "mark as not recorded."

Is this something I'm missing in terms of using the right guide? How do I get something populated so that the DVR just keeps recording these even without the info?

Sorry for the extreme newbie questions, I am sure I'm missing something super basic here. Thank you!

What source are you trying to record from?

If it is a source that has Gracenote guide data, such as OTA or TVE, it is surprising you have a problem.

If it is custom source, it may not be supplying unique episode IDs.

If it is an IPTV source, well, we don't generally like to talk about those here.
