Tuner Priority Issue For Recording - Change From Historic Behavior

I have 2 SD units, an Extend and a Prime. Since setting things up I have had the Extend as the top priority for OTA network shows. This has worked to let me record up to 5 things at once. In the past few weeks, I have noticed that I was losing scheduled recordings, with only 3 things being recorded at a time. After some testing, it seems the system is using Prime as the top priority. I have checked and verified the priority is the way it is supposed to be.

When I looked at individual passes, I verified Any channel is selected, but the listing of channel numbers has the Prime channels first, ie ABC is 3.1 (Extend) and 293 (Prime) -- but the list in Manage Passes shows these as 293, 3.1 In another instance, NBC is 10.1(Extend) and 298 (Prime) -- but the list in Manage Passes shows these as 298, 10.1 -- not sure if that order is relevant to priority or not.

I can't identify the date when this started since I only push the 5 channel limit a few times a month. I am using Version 2018.11.20.2224

Any fix for this?

Where did you verify the priority?

The order the channels are listed in the schedule doesn't matter.

Please screenshot the list of HDHRs shown in the DVR web UI, and copy/paste an example of a recording from the Log tab.

Verified in the Settings screen. EXTEND is first, Prime is under it, screen shot attached.

Created 5 new random passes. 3 programs are OTA network (available on both EXTEND & Prime), the other two are only available on the Prime device. If EXTEND is used first, all 5 programs should be able to record at once. Included the clip for the log where I created these. All 5 are set for All Episodes and all of them show up on the Guide for both the EXTEND and Prime devices.

All recording is being done on Prime and EXTEND is idle.

This one is available on 236 and 3.2, and the DVR chose 3.2 on the EXTEND

Available only on PRIME (196 and 22), so it picked 196 on the PRIME.

Available on both, picked EXTEND.

Available on PRIME only, picked channel 114

Available on both, but both tuners are now returning errors because they are in use. I guess maybe your third PRIME tuner was being used to watch live tv or something else.

That is not what the logs show. Your extend is 1057DEF3 and is being used for Maury and America's Court recordings.

Thanks for the breakdown. I will kill all Fire Sticks in the house (may be on even though TV off) and try again using your notes to determine what is going on.

Killed all of the Fire Sticks and then set up a test with five passes. All five recorded just fine. I will have to go back and see if I can duplicate what happened when I first identified this issue.

Final question: I usually do not list the active channels on my EXTEND as favorites so that they do not show up on the grid and cause confusion. The channels are left as active just not a Fav. Are there any issues this will cause the DVR?
