Turris Omnia as a Channels DVR Server?

Has anyone tried a Turris Omnia Open Source Router, Firewall, and NAS with Channels DVR? The manufacturer states that it will run Ubuntu/Debian. It "only has 2GB RAM and a 1.6GHz dual core ARM: turris.com. I need a new WiFi Router to replace an old Apple AirPort Express - If the Omnia works, I could run Channels on it without having to keep my Desktop iMac DVR Server running all of the time (current uptime 16+ days)...

I think the Raspberry Pi would perform better as a DVR server and be cheaper.

Apparently not - I tried using a Pi 4 with 2GB (that I play with) as a WFi Access Point/Pi-Hole/Firewall and Channels DVR - "top" showed it was not working flat out, but playback unacceptable when transcoding/running comskip. Maybe networking/IO problem? Perhaps I should just get a standard WiFi router and run openWrt on it, and keep running Channels on the iMac?

You need to get the router that fills your needs and budget .. every household is different.

If you need transcoding then that router box isn't going to work at all. You'll be lucky if it performs as well as the Pi TBH. And FYI, I was referring specifically to our Pi Image (getchannels.com/raspberry-pi) which runs off USB and uses ARM64 for better performance.

But if fast comskip and transcoding is a priority, keep using the iMac.

Thanks, that seems to be the solution...
