The passes default to "new" I believe. If the program is not new or it is just not marked as new it won't record. Go into the webui and take a look at the pass. It will show the matches set to record. If there aren't any matches then try setting it to all programs instead of new.
May have something to do with the HDHomerun option for the XMLTV guide data in Oz
Not sure if it's related, but issues with HDHomerun XMLTV guide data for Oz New Tags missing from ABC - Silicondust

I appreciate the help, however, you should also not assume that everyone knows hows to get the information you suggest putting in the thread. I do not care about the back end, all I want the program to do is set a pass and let the pass record the show. IF I have to get into the weeds I will, but I would have thought this should be straight forward.
Thanks for the suggestion, that worked somewhat. When selecting all programs it picks up the reruns as well, but that is a simple fix by just deleting those ones, and the remaining are the newer ones. It works so will use that method, thanks for the suggestion.
Would be nice if NEW selection only picked up new, but does not seem to find them. The workaround is fine.
Are you in Australia? Wild guess based on your username. I think there is an issue with epg possibly.
One idea is to restrict the pass to episodes by
Season > X
Or
Specific times that you know only new epiosodes air. Like 8pm or 9pm etc
This is contingent upon the guide provider marking the content as "New". If the guide doesn't indicate it, then Channels doesn't know about.
IIRC, there was talk in the past about DVB-EIT support ...perhaps @maddox can offer direction about whether DVB EPG is supported?
I am in Australia, right on that one... I will take on this suggestion as well. You have been most helpful. Thanks
