TV Shows screen forgetting Filter selection

Not sure if this is a bug report or a feature request, but my preference is always to Filter on Favorited in the TV Shows screen. Ever since the new UI release, whenever I restart Channels and go to the TV Shows screen it defaults to no filter.

I forget exactly how this worked in the old UI, but I know it worked differently -- I set it to Favorites and never had to switch it again.

I use the Favorites to mark out shows that my wife likes to watch, so that all the stuff I record that she's not interested in doesn't clutter the screen. Having to reset the filter every time we restart Channels makes it a lot less useful for that.

Not exactly sure If I am following what you are saying but you can designate a "start up section" for your clients under web UI settings.

Go to Clients > "Choose A Setting To Override" > General > Start Up > Start up Section

This setting will choose the section you want to display when launching the app.

You can also set up a Channel Collection that will sync across all your clients. This is how I sort my favorite channels in my house. Each member of the household has their own favorite collection.

You are correct in that this has changed since the new filtering UI was added.

Previously, the choices were only sorts, with the added option of Favorites. This single item was saved, the tab selection.

Favorites is now a filterable item along with many other things. But now the only thing that is sticky, is the sort, as it was before.

The reason is that most filters in this list are something someone would want for just a moment, so making it sticky, and it being set when they got back to list all shows, is absolutely not what they would want.

But your scenario is valid. So that’s tricky.

What I would suggest is turning on the Enhanced Library Browsing option. This gives you a full TV Shows section that breaks shows up in different ways to surface them better.

One thing that it does, is show all your shows marked as favorites at the top. I think this might be even better than how you handled this before.
