TVE auth duration

Know it's been asked before but couldn't find an answer.

When Channels DVR authorizes a TVE channel with a provider, how long does the auth last before it expires and has to be re-authenticated. Does it vary from channel to channel and provider to provider.

Is there a token/cookie/something that Channels caches that could tell us when it expires. Or is it that only the provider knows.

Reason I ask is I would prefer to know if the auth is expiring tomorrow before a scheduled recording on that channel. I would like to re-auth ahead of time instead of waiting for the recording to fail.

So since I don't know the answers to these questions, I figure the best thing to do is remove and readd my TVE source every week.

Instead of going nuclear, why not set a cronjob or similar to successively tune each channel you care about every morning for a minute or so?

I don't use TVE so can't confirm, but I would bet that the TVE site sets a cookie on authorization with a specific expiration time.

I had thought about that, but if it tunes fine in the morning and auth expires before my scheduled recording in the evening, it doesn't help.

I used to set a "sacraficial" recording, which was whatever preceeded the show I wanted to record, but that got tiresome quickly.

That was my thought also, based on the chromedata folder issue.

if you use your own browser to go to the websites, and have dev console open (in chrome) or web inspector (in safari), you can see the cookies and their expiration dates.

In Safari web inspector its under the Storage tab. In Chrome, its under the Application tab.

Varies per provider and channel

@tmm1
Rather then starting a feature request thread. Is it possible to build in feature in channels that automatically re-auth channels automatically during off peak hours.

Might be better then having each user create scripts.
Also im sorry for asking for yet another feature

But how would I see those in the headless Chrome on my DVR server?

In general most authorizations last for thirty days.

@chDVRuser you would just use a browser on a different computer and check there. Its going to send the same interval until expiration regardless of which system you are authorizing. But @tmm1 said it's probably 30 days for the majority of your TVE channels.

That's what I thought.
The only way I'll know when each channels auth expires is to keep track of when I last authed each one.
Easier to just remove and readd source every week or two.
