TVE Channel number

Is it possible to change the TVE channel numbers to be able to customize?

I currently have these as my sources,
Spectrum
Pluto TV
Plex TV

Any recommendations to organize the channel numbers to begin with?
I do not want to overlap channel numbers

You can't change the TVE channel numbers but the pluto and plex custom channels you can. Just set ignorr channel number from m3u. Then specify a starting channel number. It works great. Make sure you are on the latest beta.

I was able to sort of "change" my TVE channels. I saved a copy of the m3u file from my TVE (in my case, http://{server}:8089/devices/TVE-YouTubeTV/channels.m3u) locally. Next, edit the saved m3u file to use your preferred choice of channel numbers (just change the channel-id= and tvg-chno= tags, but keep the original channel values on the tvg-id= and tvc-guide-stationid= tags), then create a new Custom Provider from the edited m3u file. Now, all you need to do is use your new provider with your custom channel numbers instead of your original TVE provider. The only downside is that you need to manually add or delete entries from the file when your provider adds/deletes channels.

How can I obtain a m3u file? I am using Spectrum as my TVE.

The URL should be http://{server}:8089/devices/TVE-Spectrum/channels.m3u] for your m3u file.

Once I do that how am I able to download the m3u to edit the file?

On my Mac, i just open the URL in my browser and get a prompt to save the file. I assume it works the same in Windows and other operating systems.

Cool stuff! Thanks for explaining the process.

Your assumption is correct. :slightly_smiling_face:

It worked thank you so much for your help!!!

Hello boBHalter,

Apologies, I got the m3u and I know now how to edit the file and all. I am configuring it like this,

I only changed the tvg-chno part as you can see to #6 but it is not working, may you provide any assistance

why the channels might not work.

You need to use your LAN IP for the DVR 192.168.4.112

So instead of using my remote dvr ip use my local then it would work?

Correct, use your local IP Address of your server where CDVR is installed.

After channel mapping all day, I can say it works great.
