My tve channels on both Philo and Pluto Tv have been freezing, buffering, and timing out most of the day. My OTA channels through the HD Homerun seem to be working fine. I have refreshed and reloaded everything, loaded the latest server update and the problem persists. I have verified my router throughput and have not had any issues with any other streaming, just the Channels Dvr app. Using windows laptop as my server, steaming with Nvidia Shield and Firesticks.
Including pre-releases? Please include actual version numbers.
Again, troubleshooting requires details. Windows version/build? Chrome/Chromuim build? Also, which Shield version?; after their botched Experience 9 update, I'd be skeptical ...
If you DVR computer is recording to a NAS drive instead of USB that could be causing problems.
Windows 10 build 19044
Using a usb connected storage for dvr
Server is version 2022.03.21.2231
Chrome version 99.0.4844.8 64 bit
Firestick 4k --- fore os 6.2.8.1
Shield sw version 9.0.1
Having the same issue on 2 firesticks and 1 shield.
I believe this is a previous version of Fire OS, and no longer supported. This may be related.
Is this the latest version with the second HotFix? (I honestly don't know, but the Shield Experience 9 update was botched beyond belief ...)
Second firestick is on version 6.2.8.7 and has the same problems. That is the latest version. Upgrading the first firststick to version 6.2.8.7 now to see if it makes any difference. The shield has the latest version available loaded.
Think I found the issue. Everthing works fine until my laptop/server screen times out. Then my TVE feeds start buffering and freezing. I have verified that my laptop is set to never sleep and it has been working fine up until today. Not sure why this is happening, will continue to troubleshoot.
Make sure your NIC power setting are set to not power off ... And also check power settings on PC. Sometimes settings get reset after major updates.
Except it's not. Newer models have newer software versions. Your hardware may be running an older/deprecated OS.
Issue is certainly on my laptop/server side. Every time the screen times out, my video starts freezing and buffering. I verified my all of my power settings, nic power settings, and they seem correct. I made sure all video and audio drivers were up to date, disabled the screen saver, problem persisted.
I installed a software program(Insomniate) to keep the laptop from sleeping. That has been running for a few hours and my issue is resolved. If I turn Insomniate off, the issue returns. Seems my laptop is sleeping even though it is set to never sleep. Not sure why it coincides with the screen timeout. I did not have this issue for the first month of using the channels service on this same laptop with no confguration changes. It just started yesterday, perhaps a windows software update affdected my laptop.
