I recently hit an issue where I would get very choppy playback (dropped output frames) when viewing a recording of FS1 from a TVE source. The odd part is that if I viewed the live channel rather than the recording the playback was smooth. I noticed that when viewing the recording the FPS is set to 23.976 (specified) 59.940 (estimated) but when viewing live it is at 59.940 (specified) 59.940 (estimated). I also saw the choppy playback if I happened to turn to the live channel and it was on a commercial. Seems as though the stream will switch FPS during playback but Channels will keep it at whatever was reported at first play of the video.
I am using an Apple TV for viewing and saw the same behavior when using default and legacy video driver.
Any thoughts on how to get smooth playback when viewing the recording?
