TVE Guide Data

I assume we are beholden to each TVE provider, but I noticed the guide data can be inconsistent in terms of air date vs DVD order. For example, I just started a season pass of Deep Space Nine. The first 3 episodes:

Star Trek Deep Space Nine S01E01 1993-01-04 Emissary 2023-02-08-0200
Star Trek Deep Space Nine S01E01 1993-01-04 Emissary 2023-02-08-0300
Star Trek Deep Space Nine S01E02 1993-01-18 A Man Alone 2023-02-08-0400

Emissary is a 2 part-er, but both listed as ep1. And while A Man Alone is the correct title, it should be either aired ep4 or DVD ep3. So the title is correct, but not episodes.

Similar with Futurama, they're showing the streaming episode order and the titles are correct, but that can't be matched correctly (in Plex).

Just putting this out there in case someone has more knowledge on the subject and if they have any tips on dealing with it.

The guide data is provided to Channels by Gracenote and Channels can't do anything about it.

The good news is that Channels gives you the ability to edit metadata yourself so that it looks like it should.
For TV show episodes, you can change the season and episode numbers, and pretty much everything else. :metal:

For PLEX though, since it relies on file names for matching, you will have to rename the files, I guess. Not fun but that should do it.
