TVE NAS list

I'm a long-time Channels customer who signed up for the DVR service after reading about the TV Everywhere beta. (I love the Channels UI. But being able to use it with my streaming service (DirectTV Now) is a huge win for me).

Here's the thing. I don't yet have an NAS. (That's the route I think I want to go). I see a list of NASes for the Channels DVR service. But from my reading here, it seems that not all of those are supported by TV Everywhere.

My question is, can someone provide me with a list of NASes that have been shown to work with TVE?

I know they've said ones with an Intel processor. But could someone just provide a couple of examples that have been proven to work? I really, really appreciate it.

The most popular NAS among Channels DVR users is the Synology DS-218+

The QNAP TS-251+ is also popular.

The Western Digital PR2100 or PR4100 is another option which also has an Intel processor like the above options.

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. Since I don't already own one, I decided I should just get one that is known to work with TV Everywhere (TVE).

I'm using my older Synology DS716+II and it easily manages Lidarr, Sonarr, Radarr, Emby and Plex, a personal four camera surveillance and now Channels DVR.
That model is avail used on eBay for pretty cheap.

Yeah. Thanks for the feedback. But I'm specifically asking about compatibility with the Channels TV Everywhere (TVE). Not all of the NAS listed on the DRV compatibility list work with TVE.

To be really specific it would help if you posted your source for TVE, i.e., cable provider: Xfinity, Cox, Spectrum, etc, or other supplier: Hulu, You Tube TV, PSVue, etc.

As Tmm mentioned I have a Synology DS218+ and it works great with TVE. I think any of the ones he mentioned would work for TVE.

My WD PR4100 works fine with it. can watch on multiple tv's at once with no problem.

Can anyone recommend a good SINGLE DRIVE Synology device with Intel processor that works well with TVE? I'm using DirecTV & Spectrum. I have a DS218+ for home, but have access to a super high connection elsewhere that I'd like to setup a TVE drive/DVR at.

Not sure of cost difference but I think you can just put 1 drive in a DS218+ then you would have 1 bay for expansion.

Why ask the source? I mean does the source of one's TVE access effect which NAS will work or will not work? Because I have never heard this? For example, if today I have YouTube TV and access my TVE through them and store my DVR recordings on a Synology 216+ but the, hypothetically, YouTube TV decides to jack up their prices by 40% (they've done this before so this is not a dar fetched scenario) so I decide to switch to the $20 a month Philo so I can continue enjoying access to TV Everywhere. Are you stating that my (JimBobs Super Nas or take your pick) might not work the same way? Because It was my understanding that TV Everywhere access is TV Eveeywhere access at least as far as storage/recording is concerned. Is this not the case?
I'm looking into a working NAS myself and this is the first I've heard of some not working with TV Everywhere. So thanks for this post. It has potentially saved a huge headache for me. And if my question specific to DebbieFL could be answered I might avoid an even larger one. Namely, is the NAS I end up with...or COULD it end up pigeon holing me into any specific TV Everywhere provider? Or limiting my access in any way shape or form? Thanks
