I didn't see a true answer though.
That's because there isn't one. Other than the CFAA being cited as the source of the FitzyTV problems, there are no concrete/verified reasons given.
If you have some additional evidence or insights to offer, then please do. But otherwise, I feel that most aspects of wild speculation have been addressed.
I flaged this topic with the developers yesterday. Im sure they will provide some insite on what makes Channels different from FitzyTV soon.
