I'm getting the following error:
TVE: chrome failed to start:

I'm getting the following error:

You need to install or upgrade chrome on your Ubuntu
I tried this option through channels but it didn't change anything

Will channels use chromium from the system if I install it on Ubuntu?
Yes
I'm having this same problem encountered when setting up my SECOND TVE connection. The first connected and added channels without issue. This suggest that chromium-browser has been setup.
Try to uninstall the snap version of chrome/chromium on Ubuntu, that was the cause for me.
Install the regular version of chrome from a PPA: How To Install Google Chrome on Ubuntu 20.04 – TecAdmin
Thanks for the advise Y24; I'll give that a go.
To the development team - should the documentation be updated to account for challenges snap has presented to TVE? Or is this not a common issue and should I be doing something different to ensure a stable deployment?
As of yet Snap chromium has not been an issue for me. I don’t think and change in documentation is necessary quite yet.
Perhaps uninstalling snap is simply a placebo then. Maybe there's something else causing this issue.
I'll continue to monitor and report back if have any more anecdotes to contribute.
