Ubuntu Headless and Nvidia Graphics

I've installed Ubuntu Headless Server 20.04 and then installed Nvidia 460 drivers.

How do I know channels dvr will use my gpu for transcoding and not onboard intel quick sync.

I did have to install the normal drivers to get emby to use the GTX 750, which meant a gui install as well

If you hover on Transcoding it should say h264_nvenc

thanks, will it still work if i removed the standard driver and install the latest headless driver for ubuntu or will it be like emby and fail?

It should work without GUI but I don't know for certain.

Must I also do this as part of the install if I have intel cpu, but using the nvidia graphics card

If you have an Intel processor, make sure you add your user to the video and render groups so the Channels DVR Server transcoder can use /dev/dri for hardware acceleration: sudo adduser $(id -u -n) video && sudo adduser $(id -u -n) render

No

thanks,

so far enjoying the app - did have it on my amd a8-5600k but just switched to the intel i5-4460 with gtx 750 ti and recreated everything - testing it on my nvidia shield tv (hard wired) to see performance difference and so far a lot better
