Ubuntu VM - Docker error

Hi.

Ubuntu server running on ESXi 8 - 24.04.1 - though same issue on earlier versions of Ubuntu/ESXi.

When looking at the terminal login screen I have an error:

[drm:vmw_generic_ioctl [vmwgfx]] ERROR Invalid command format, ioctl 6

This only appears when the Channels container is running. It doesn't appear to cause any adverse affects but curious as to what is causing this issue. My guess is it somehow relates to the graphics card in use but wondered if anyone can shed some light?

VM hypervisor does not implement some feature in their graphics driver. Harmless as you noted.

Cheers - just always been curious. I ended up passing through the video card and I can't see it now anyway :slight_smile:
