Wondering how hard it would be to support the channels client on the Zidoo UHD8000..
It's an amazing device for media playback. Not really meant for streaming, but my needs are pretty simple. The channels app does not run on the UHD8000, it does run on the older UHD2000.
Different chipset.
You can't sideload it?
Either that or use the Kodi addon?
I can load it easily. It doesn't run on the amlogic processor.
Are you sure it's the processor causing the issue and not a 32-bit version of Android 11 used on the device?

The app launches and then goes right back to the app screen immediately. It pretty much does nothing. It runs on older Zidoo boxes, but not the latest. Emby runs, Plex runs. There are some minor issues with those, but for the most part they work.
I have the latest _G version of the firmware which means it has the Play Store. Before I switched to the G version, I would have to side load everything.
I realize not many people have one of these.
Okay sounds like its crashing for some reason.
We don't have one of these devices, so its unlikely we can improve things. The app is just a standard android app, so its weird that it would not work.
If you're able to adb logcat and find the crash information we could investigate further. I'll check if its making it far enough to upload crash diagnostics to us.

I'm trying to install the official version from the play store.
My understanding is it installs the one you need.
Just curious. I remember having an issue when I installed Android 11 on a 32 bit SOC. Some security changes caused storage location issues. That would not cause your issue though.
