Unable to add local content (movies or TV Shows)

So i've been using plex for playing local content and now that there is a lock on local content (didn't want my stuff getting deleted by accident) i've been experimenting with adding it. So far its got to be something i'm doing wrong but I can't seem to get it to scan the directories to add anything.
Setup:
Synology NAS running 2 volumes.

Volume 1 is the local content
Volume 2 is running the channels server as well as plex.

all volumes are on separate drives (Volume 2 are SSD's, volume 1 are large regular drives in a expansion bay).

I can add the directories but when i add them it doesn't scan them. I've also tried to force a scan but nothing still shows in channels itself. I've made sure that all shows are named as they should be moviename (2023) and tv shows are in separate directories with seasonal sub directories and properly named using rename my tvshow, example: magnum pi (1982), season 1, pilot 1x1...etc...

i'm at a loss as to why nothing is showing in channels. it works fine in plex but i can't get anything to show up in channels. What am i missing here?

Thank you for the swift reply. I see i'm getting a permission denied:

2023/09/12 12:20:14.389895 [ERR] Failed to read directory /volume1/TV Shows: open /volume1/TV Shows: permission denied

2023/09/12 13:33:02.365889 [ERR] Failed to read directory /volume1/Movies: open /volume1/Movies: permission denied

this is a new one to me

You have to give permissions in the Synology interface. Find the share and add the hidden users channels to it

Thank you so much! i don't know why i didn't think about that, but once you said it, it clicked, i had to do that for something else as well. Its not something i do often. You guys are AWESOME!
