When I try to connect to the Channels web app on my QNAP, I keep getting an “Unable to connect to server” error. In the past a simple restart did the trick but that’s not working now.
Any idea what might be going on?

Are you trying to connect locally, or from outside your home?
You could try turning the DVR app off and back on via the QNAP apps interface.
If that’s still not working, try SSH into the QNAP and run this command and post the results back:
tail -10 /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/ChannelsDVR/channels-dvr/data/channels-dvr.log
Attempting to connect locally. No luck on restarting the app.
Heres the results from the SSH:
<DEV1_DATA/.qpkg/ChannelsDVR/channels-dvr/data/channels-dvr.log

That worked. Can’t get in directly from the QNAP but that worked ok. Odd.
What does the browser url bar say when you try from the qnap?
Okay that’s why. You’re trying to access your NAS via the cloud instead of locally.
Could this be the issue?

How do I connect locally?
I can access Channels DVR when I use the local link at home but not when using the “my.channelsdvr.net” address. I end up getting a “Failed to open” notification. Any idea what might be going on?
That means your port forwarding isn’t working. You can set it to Manual and add the port forward on your router.
Worked just fine in the past. Any idea what might have changed?
Hmm. Can you send me a private message with your IP from http://ipchicken.com? I’ll check to make sure things are correct on our side.
Ironically, after fussing with it all day, I figure it out after posting a message here.
I didn’t have the Remote DVR option enabled. Derp.
