Unable to stream to iPhone using Channels app, Safari works fine

I'm unable to stream DVR movies or live TV shows using the Channels app on my iPhone 13 iOS 16.1. I can discover the Channels server back at home remotely using the app and browse movies and shows. I can also playback movies and live TV using the iOS Safari browser via the server interface.
But when I play back anything using the Channels app after a minute I get "the connection to Channels DVR has a problem. Press play to try again. (Timeout)" and "try lowering the streaming Quality in Settings". In the logs I get the following two entries
2023/10/01 09:39:27.233967 [ENC] Starting encoder for Running Wild With Bear Grylls The Challenge S02E00 Extra Grit Russell Brand 2023-08-20-1900.mpg in /media/pi/Elements/DVR/Streaming/file1157-fa82ada857c2-904210005/encoder-0-801152663 at 0 (0.000000) (encoder=h264_omx, resolution=720, deinterlacer=blend, bitrate=4148, segment_size=0.01)

I've tried all streaming settings down to 300kbps but its not working. I know it worked on the last vacation in February, 2023, not sure what's happened since then.

Does changing to Original quality help?

Yes! Changing Cellular Streaming from 4 mbs to Original solved the problem. I never thought to change it “up” to Original. Thanks!

Transcoding on Raspberry Pi can be hit or miss. If transcoding is a big requirement, it’d be worth bumping up to a mini pc.
