Understanding port forwarding - set static IP on PC as well?

If I have my router set to port forward 8089 from the IP on my Windows 11 Mini PC where my Channels server is. I also set that IP to be static to my Windows 11 Mini PC on my router.

Do I have to also assign the IP address on my Windows PC? I actually tried to do that, but then I can no longer access my.channelsdvr.net.

If you set the ChannelsDVR server on your router to use a static IP that is all you need.
