Maybe there's already a way to do this but I haven't figured it out. Is there a way to setup a Channels Collection for both currently playing and upcoming live sports? Ideally I'd want to have an NCAA Men's collection that used Automatic Channels to filter down to the ones that have games that day (or preferably a custom interval).

I know that under On Later, Sports, College Basketball you can see the logos of the teams but A) that combines NCAA Women's and Men's I think and B) just being in the grid view of the guide would be preferable to at least be able to see the times.

No. The collections are populated based upon the guide data at the current point in time.

You can manually add specific sports channels that are likely to air the content you are looking for, in addition to dynamically displaying currently airing live sports.

In that case this is a feature request. Basically just the addition of a rolling time window “next _ hours” option to Automatic Channels.

I can say that we’ll probably never do automatic collections for things coming on later, because it is a guide, so it not only doesn’t make sense, it goes against how it works and would be confusing.

I will say that I think sports deserves its own section, and this is where we could put upcoming events and I think would solve this.

Also, ncaa tournament channel collection is easy, it’s just 4 channels. And you can turn it on and off seasonally, it’s actually the main scenario that drove the feature.

So you’re saying a different section for different sports? I think that’s good (separate NFL from college for instance?) but if it’s still just the big pictures of logos and not a grid where you can easily go through the times it’s certainly not as useful.

I just don’t quite understand how having things coming on later doesn’t make sense for a guide…isn’t that a lot of the point? This obviously just applies to sports but it’s just kinda silly to have it function so that football games have to have started before the collection works. Then you’re watching the 1pm games and have no visibility of the 4pm or prime time games. I don’t think it functions well as-is, for sports specifically.

It certainly doesn’t need to be as feature-rich with scores and stuff but having the visibility of the times in the sports section like Xfinity has would also serve this purpose.

This has been my frustration too. As is, it's more of a Now Playing screen than a guide.

Filters in the guide filter based on what’s currently on that channel right now. It’s how the default filters work and it’s how Automatic Channels works.

We understand the point of this topic, and we’re going to do something about it in one way or another. I’m going to close it for now as it’s been discussed to completion.
