Upgrading to a larger disk

For the purposes of making more storage available and to create a backup I am replacing my secondary storage external drive with a larger capacity. This is on a Windows 10 PC. The entire directory structure will be copied and when finished, I’ll stop the server and give the new drive the same name and drive letter that the old drive had and reboot.

It seems to me that the last time I did this, I lost watched/unmatched status even though all the file names and directory structure remained the same. I may be remembering wrong. Should this upgrade preserve everything without having to rebuild the database? If not, anything I can do to preserve it?

I've done a similar migration using a SMB share to a NAS. It worked fine.
