I just bought the Channels app for iOS and noticed it takes over tuner0 which I use for something else. Is there a way to specify which tuner to use? I have an HDHomeRun Connect (HDHR4-2US). Thanks!
There is no way to specify a tuner. The app should be using tuners in reverse order, so tuner1 will be used and if it’s busy, tuner0 instead.
I’m not sure what you’re using tuner0 for, but if you use the official SiliconDust http API it will automatically pick a free tuner and you don’t have to worry about which one is free.
One of the best features of the SD tuner eco system is that with applications like Channels that follow the dynamic tuner allocation process from SDs APIs is that it is really easy to add more devices for more tuners and have all the applications co-exist with each other on a first come-first served manner if everyone plays nice (requesting and releasing tuners only when needed).
