Using Channels with a Panasonic Viera TV

I have just started the one month free trial of Channels. I have installed Channels on a rasbperry pi and I am using the iOS Channels app on my Macbook. Everything looks good. The HD channels are jerky but I have not tried to optimise them yet. The DVR works well so it's a good start for me. I am very pleased with the software.
I was wondering however if in the end I could replace my Humax PVR with Channels/RPi server? The simple idea of running an hdmi feed from my RPi to my Viera TV - are there ways to make that work at all? Are there other ways I could do this? I am thinking it's not possible. Any ideas much appreciated.

most people use Apple or Android based streaming boxes or sticks connected to the TV's HDMI port. There are inexpensive solutions that work quite well.

Thanks @Morris_Altman for your reply. I do have a Google TV Chromecast and an HDHomerun tuner on my network. That way I do get access to live TV - do any other streaming boxes have this? But I think HDHomerun admit the app is beta and it's very difficult to use. Channels has a much better UI and recording is much easier. I have not tried pause or rewind yet on Channels! So I was thinking there maybe a way for Channels that would be better. Do Channels have apps for Google TV? I could not see one. Or can you take the feed from the RPI HDMI directly to the TV via something...? Thanks again.

Yes, search the App Store in the GTV for Channels whole home dvr and install it. Since you subscribe to the dvr service you want the free whole home app, not the Channels for Hdhomerun

Hi @Rice thanks for this info. I have found the App - I searched Google TV for the App and have installed it. I did not think of GTV - I just checked for the Channels App through my browser!
The App looks really nice and works much better than HDHomerun. I think I will invest in a RPI 5 now although my RPI +3 B is doing quite well. Thanks again.
