Can this be done within the Channels DVR application?
If possible, I want to avoid having to stripe 2 drives together into one volume.

Yes, but be aware that you have to manually move the recordings from one drive to the other. It can only record to the main drive. I haven't found a clean way to automatically move them so I just wait until the main one is almost full, and then move a bunch when the DVR isn't being used.
This forum is impressive. I haven't used it in a while because Channels DVR has been humming along perfectly.
