Appreciate all the effort that goes into this app and the underlying platform — keep up the impressive work!
I want to talk for a moment about the “TV Shows” screen on tvOS that you can access either directly on the icon bar on the left side of the screen (assuming you’ve enabled it in Settings | General | Manage Navigation | TV Shows) or indirectly through Library | TV Shows.
When you’re on this screen, it presents a menu of shows, and if you’ve favorited any it shows them at the top. All good things.
Here’s the problem:
Playing any show from this screen requires at least two clicks. You need to select the show, and then select an episode. This creates a potentially unnecessary number of steps to get to watching something.
What I’d like to see:
Hitting Play on any show tile in “TV Shows” should immediately play whatever the up next episode is in that show. That’s a win from a UX perspective (because it’s what you expect would happen when you hit Play today, except it doesn’t do anything) and doesn’t negatively impact any other facet of the experience.
