Verizon won’t let me add a cable card to my account

Tried to get a cablecard for a channels DVR project I’ve been working on. The CSR quoted me a price of $4.99 a month. Problem was when he tried adding it to my account it wouldn’t let him. He then tried having a higher level CSR add it and they couldn’t add it either. My guess is that since the FCC isn’t requiring them to supply cable cards anymore that they aren’t going to. Not surprised since it’s Verizon and they love to nickel and dime there customers.

This is weird. And while I share your opinion of Verizon generally, in the case of FIOS this just isn’t true.

They have not DRMd their cable channels, their service is outstanding, and they’re practically the last provider that hasn’t added data caps.

In general, they don’t participate in most of the other bad practices that have become the norm for providers. So I’m surprised if they’ve done this.
