I intermittently see the live stream either pause, get blurry or pixilate. Sometimes it’s good for hours and other times it’s constantly bad. I’ve narrowed the problem down to the Wifi connection between my router and ATV4. I see the problem on my iphone which means my network is good ( I typically get 80Mbs download speed) and I don’t see the problem on my ATV4 when I run a 30’ Lan cable directly to the router. My router is only 30’ from the ATV4 and it’s line of site, the signal strength is 4/5. Is the wifi performance of the ATV4 just poor? Is the ATV4K any better? I would upgrade if I knew that would fix it. The direct Lan connection is my best option but I will have to route the cable outside which will be a pain. I don’t really want to do a direct connection over the AC power lines. Any suggestions?
Is it an 802.11N router or 802.11AC router? I would get a lot higher speeds with my ATV4 and an 802.11AC router that was right across the room.
For the 80Mbps, is that the max of your internet connection? I’ve also found that power line adapters don’t work very well, so I’ve always gone away from using them.
If you have coax cable between the two locations then MOCA works well.
The router is 802.11AC. 80Mbps is my internet connection. Thanks for the power line adapter advice.
